Places around the Isle of Skye that we’ve personally been to and enjoyed, both on and off season. If it’s here, it’s amazing, and you can expect the very best that the island has to offer.

As with anything during peak season, it’s essential that you book well in advance to avoid disappointment - arriving unannounced usually means finding alternatives at very short notice and, given the popularity of all places on this list, is quite difficult.

    Warm, cosy restaurant with fantastic local produce, great live music and pub quizzes, as well as a bar for drinks and light bites. Very popular.

    Classic pub grub and live music in Carbost, with delicious burgers, fish ‘n chips and steak pies, as well as an evening menu that excites just as much. No nonsense, fantastic staff.

  • Cafe Cuil

    Carbost has another wonderful, modern eatery here with lunches and dinners catered for. Delicious, eclectic and using local produce, Cafe Cuil never disappoints. Has a cool gift shop too!

    A quirky wee place in Struan, this cafe has wonderfully interesting dishes to choose from for lunch, and with the warm, cosy atmosphere this is the place to go for a yum-yum lunch. Coffee and sweet treats too.

  • Mackenzie's Bakery

    Sweet tooths are catered for in abundance here, with doughnuts of all forms, tray bakes and cakes. Lovely selection of breads and they offer filled rolls, soup and coffee too. Always queued out the door at lunchtime.

    The best pizzas this side of the Skye Bridge, Gasta offers incredible food in a fantastic wooden-framed restaurant. Some of the pizzas are utterly dreamy, and they have other food too. Pizza Friday ahoy!
